Day 3: Veil of Horizons

Valparaíso is a city painted with stories, and today I found myself walking through them. The murals along Cerro Alegre and Cerro Concepción stretch across walls, staircases, and corners, some vibrant and playful, others quiet and introspective. Each piece felt like a conversation between the artist and the city-a kaleidoscope of voices layered over time.

I let the streets guide me without a plan, wandering through narrow paths and steep staircases. One mural in particular caught my attention: a woman's face intertwined with birds and flowers, her gaze serene yet distant. I stood there for a while, sketching her in my notebook, trying to capture a fragment of that moment.

At one point, I stopped at a small overlook where the houses tumbled down toward the harbor, painted in every color imaginable. The breeze carried the sounds of seagulls and distant laughter from the harbor below. I sat there for a while, enjoying the view and feeling content in its simplicity.

There's a sense of freedom here - a city where the walls speak and art doesn't need permission to exist. It's a place that embraces imperfection, and it made me feel at home.
