Day 43: Jewels in the Current

Today was a day of discovery and color under the waves. I spent the morning snorkeling at Coral Gardens, just off Grace Bay Beach. The water was impossibly clear and the coral reef teemed with life. Vibrant fish darted through the intricate coral formations, their colors glittering like jewels in the sunlight filtering through the water.

As I floated over the reef, I was mesmerized by the patterns and textures-the way the coral undulated gently with the currents, the play of light and shadow on the ocean floor. I tried to memorize every detail, knowing that these images would inspire future work.

Afterwards, I walked back along the shore, letting the warm sand ground me as I reflected on the vibrant world just below the surface. It felt like a secret realm, alive with untold stories. The day left me feeling both humbled and invigorated, as if I had been given a glimpse of something profoundly beautiful yet fleeting.

Tonight, as I sit with my sketchbook, I feel an urgency to capture the shapes and colors of the coral and its inhabitants. Providenciales has given me a window into a world that I'll carry with me for a long time.
