Day 8: Diego Morales

Today, as you wander through the cobbled streets of Colonia del Sacramento's Historic Quarter, the blend of Portuguese and Spanish architectures speaks of centuries passed. Each building is a chapter in history, and the Barrio Histórico, with its quaint charm, is like stepping back in time.

It is in the heart of these historic streets that you can meet Diego Morales, an elderly gentleman who claims to know every corner of this town. As we walked along Calle de los Suspiros, Diego shared stories of the street's past. His tales ranged from romantic legends to historical anecdotes. The street was so vibrant, with rustic buildings and flowering balconies.

While sketching by the Rio de la Plata, I couldn't help but reflect on Diego's stories. Each stroke captured not just the beauty of the riverscape but also the essence of his tales. The sun setting over the river painted the sky in hues of orange and pink, creating a natural masterpiece.

Today was such a wonderful journey through stories and time! Colonia's historic charm and Diego's tales left a lasting impression on me, and I'm sure they'll inspire many artworks to come.
