69 days: Beneath the Silence
Share
Today I found myself drawn to the serenity of Kuthodaw Pagoda, a place unlike any other I've visited. The air was warm, the sky partly cloudy, with patches of light breaking through, creating shifting patterns of shadow and sunlight on the marble slabs. Each of the 729 slabs, inscribed with the words of the Buddha, seemed to whisper its own quiet wisdom.
As I walked among the stupas, I felt a strange calm come over me. The white stupas with their golden spires reached for the sky, their presence both commanding and delicate. Monks in saffron robes moved silently, their soft chanting occasionally breaking the silence. I paused to take in the details, the intricate carvings, the worn steps where countless feet had walked before mine.
There was a special moment when I stood alone, a light breeze lifting the prayer flags around me. I felt a deep connection to the space, a reminder of the quiet strength that comes from within. As I left the pagoda, I carried this sense of peace with me, knowing that it would find its way into my next work. Today was a day of silent discovery.
