Fourth Journey Day 100: The Orchid’s Secret

Today was a refreshing dive into the delicate artistry of nature. I spent the afternoon at the Finca Dracula Orchid Nursery, nestled in the serene hills of Cerro Punta. The drive itself was a feast for the senses, with winding roads framed by lush greenery and crisp mountain air.
At the nursery, I was immediately captivated by the kaleidoscope of orchids. Each bloom was a tiny masterpiece, with intricate patterns and colors that seemed almost unreal. I lingered over the rare Dracula orchids, their shapes resembling tiny faces hidden within the petals. The guides were knowledgeable and shared the fascinating history and care behind these unique flowers.
I pulled out my sketchpad and tried to capture the essence of their delicate beauty. The interplay of sunlight on the petals, creating soft shadows and shimmering highlights, felt like a dance of light and form.
When I returned to David, I felt a deep sense of peace. There's something profoundly grounding about being surrounded by such humble yet extraordinary life forms. I ended the day reflecting on the quiet power of nature to inspire and soothe.
