Day 13: Wings Above the Concrete

Today I walked through Comuna 13, a neighborhood that pulses with color and resilience. The walls are a canvas for stories - each mural a reflection of the community's journey from hardship to hope. I spent hours walking the narrow streets, each one revealing a new burst of color and design.

One mural in particular caught my attention - a massive, swirling scene of birds in flight, their wings painted in every shade imaginable. Children were playing nearby, unfazed by the tourists and visitors, their laughter filling the air.

I stopped to sketch sections of the wall, capturing the contrast between the bright colors and the rough texture of the concrete. The street art here is more than aesthetic; it's living history, a testament to change.

The outdoor escalators offered a unique view as I rose above the winding streets, each level revealing more of the spirit of the neighborhood. As the sun began to set, casting warm light on the murals, I felt immersed in the energy of Comuna 13 - a mix of pride, art, and a sense of community resilience that is rare to find.
