Day 165: Fortitude in Stone and Spice

Today I explored Taqah Castle, a short trip from Salalah. The sun was bright, but the breeze helped make the walk pleasant. As I stepped through the wooden gates, I was struck by the sturdy architecture of the castle and the understated beauty of its interiors.
Small displays offered a glimpse of the region's heritage, and I often found myself pausing to sketch details of the heavy doors and stone walls. There were a few other visitors, though the general mood was pleasantly quiet. Being able to admire the courtyard and the simple details of the castle's corridors brought me closer to the local history.
After finishing my visit, I stopped at a nearby stand for a cool drink. I spent some time jotting down notes and making quick sketches to capture what caught my eye. All in all, the afternoon felt like a brief but fascinating step into another era.
