Fourth Journey Day 46: Guardian Above and Below

Today I ventured up to Mount Isabel de Torres via the iconic cable car. The ascent was breathtaking as the lush greenery unfolded beneath me and the cityscape of Puerto Plata blended seamlessly with the sparkling blue of the sea. At the top, the expansive view took my breath away - it felt as if the horizon stretched endlessly, uniting the mountains and the ocean in serene harmony.
The statue of Christ the Redeemer stood majestically, its arms outstretched as if embracing the serene surroundings. I spent time wandering through the gardens, admiring the vibrant tropical flora and its intricate patterns of color. A light breeze carried the scent of green and salt from the distant coast, adding to the tranquil atmosphere.
The descent back to the city offered a new perspective. It was humbling to see how small everything seemed from above, yet how significant each detail felt when experienced up close. As I walked back to my lodging, the sun was sinking, casting a golden glow over the streets.
This day reminded me of the beauty in contrast - the towering mountain peaks and the humble streets below. It left me inspired and quietly grateful for moments of stillness in the midst of a vibrant journey.
