Fourth Journey Day 52: Wall of Forgotten Hands

Jacmel's art district was alive with color today, each mural and mosaic bursting with stories waiting to be unraveled. As I walked the streets, the sunlight seemed to amplify the vibrancy of the painted walls, bringing the artwork to life. I spoke with a local artist who was putting the finishing touches on a mural depicting Haitian folklore. He shared his inspiration and the resilience of his community, which left a deep impression on me.
I visited a gallery filled with intricate papier-mâché creations whose textures and patterns blended tradition with innovation. One piece in particular, a vibrant carnival mask, seemed to capture the energy of the city itself. I spent the afternoon sketching details of the murals, blending my impressions with my own artistic voice.
When I returned to my room, my sketchbook was filled with raw ideas and textures, ready to evolve into tomorrow's artwork. Jacmel has a way of making creativity feel contagious, and tonight I feel its pulse still humming within me.
