Fourth Journey Day 64: Feathers Above the Sea

The hike up Mount Royal was both challenging and rewarding. The trail, though steep in places, was flanked by lush greenery and dotted with bursts of colorful wildflowers. Each step revealed new vistas - glimpses of the azure sea framed by vibrant tropical foliage.

At the top, the view was nothing short of breathtaking. The surrounding islands dotted the turquoise water like scattered jewels, their shapes softened by the hazy midday sun. A light breeze carried the scent of the sea, a refreshing contrast to the warmth of the hike. I sat on a smooth rock for what seemed like hours, sketching the panorama and jotting down notes about the play of light on land and sea.

On the descent, I stopped at a shady grove where a small family of birds flitted among the branches. Their soft chirping added a soothing soundtrack to the scene. Back at the shore, I cooled my feet in the water, the rhythmic lapping of the waves grounding me after the climb.

Today's experience gave me new ideas for layering textures and colors in my next collage. The harmony of the island's elements - earth, sea and sky - resonates deeply with me. I look forward to translating this into my artwork tomorrow.
