Day 9 : Martina Fernandez

Today, I had the pleasure of exploring the surreal architecture of Casapueblo. This living sculpture, created by Carlos Páez Vilaró, is perched on the cliffs overlooking the sea. It is a maze of terraces, staircases, and galleries, each turn offering a new perspective of the ocean.

During my visit, I had the pleasure of meeting Martina Fernandez, a local artist who draws inspiration from the unique light and shadows of Casapueblo. Her vibrant paintings captured the essence of the Uruguayan coastline. She shared her artistic journey and emphasized how the environment influences her palette and themes. Her deep connection to the place and her art was evident in every word.

I was inspired. I spent hours wandering through the white-washed halls and open terraces of Casapueblo. The play of light was a spectacle as the sun dipped towards the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and purple. At that moment, I felt time stand still. The tranquility and beauty resonated with the artist in me.

Today was not just a visit, but an experience that transcended time and space. It left me with a sense of awe and a deeper understanding of the bond between an artist and their muse.
