Fourth Journey Day 168: Scented Silhouettes of Souq

Today in Al Wakrah, I spent the day getting into the local rhythm. I began with a leisurely walk along the coastal road, where the sun lit up the gentle waves and the breeze carried a hint of the sea. I paused at a small café to sip a cool drink and soak in the warm atmosphere. The city revealed itself in subtle details-traditional architecture juxtaposed with modern elements, quiet street corners where daily life unfolded at its own pace, and soft calls to prayer echoing in the distance. I took a few moments to sketch some of these scenes, capturing the play of light and shadow on the weathered walls. The day was spent in quiet observation, absorbing the understated charm of Al Wakrah and its blend of old and new. This reflective pace left me with a deep appreciation for the simple yet profound textures of urban life.
