Third Journey Day 20: Majestic Silhouettes
Today was a fascinating journey through history. The royal enclosure, Fasil Ghebbi, stood majestically against the clear blue sky. Its castles and palaces, each with its own history, whispered the tales of a bygone era. I wandered through the grand halls and towering fortresses, feeling the echoes of the past in every stone and archway.
The architecture is stunning, with intricate designs and imposing structures that speak of a time of grandeur and power. I spent hours sketching the details, trying to capture the essence of these historical wonders. The blend of Portuguese, Indian and local influences in the design is truly fascinating.
In the afternoon I visited the Fasilides Baths. The serenity of the surrounding gardens and the historical significance of the bath were deeply inspiring. The sun cast a golden glow on the water, creating a serene scene perfect for sketching.
As the day drew to a close, I felt a deep connection to the history and culture of Gondar. The city's rich past has left an indelible mark on my soul, and I am eager to translate these emotions into my art. Tomorrow I look forward to another day of exploration and inspiration in this beautiful city.
