Day 28: A Quiet Sentinel

The day began with the sun casting a soft glow over Belize City, its warm hues matching the relaxed rhythm of the city. I decided to visit St. John's Cathedral, a landmark that stood like a silent sentinel of history. Its red brick facade exuded an understated charm, and as I stepped inside, the tranquil atmosphere enveloped me.

The stained glass windows filtered the sunlight, painting the wooden pews with vibrant colors. I walked slowly, tracing my fingers along the cool stone walls, imagining the stories they might hold. Each detail spoke of a time when life was different, yet the essence of worship remained timeless.

Outside, the surrounding greenery offered a respite from the urban bustle. I sat under a tree, sketchbook in hand, trying to capture the play of light and shadow on the cathedral's facade.

As evening fell, I returned to the water's edge, letting the cool breeze wash away the day's heat. The city lights reflected on the water, creating a shimmering tableau. Today felt both grounding and inspiring - a reminder of beauty in silence and history.
