Fourth Journey Day 90: Terraces of Sun and Stone

Today I spent the afternoon exploring Cerro Santa Lucía, a historic hill in the heart of Santiago. The climb up the winding paths was rewarded with breathtaking views of the cityscape against the distant Andes. A light breeze made the warm weather feel refreshing, and the sunlight cast a golden glow on the vibrant greenery and stone structures.
The hill itself was a tapestry of history and beauty. The ornate fountains, intricate staircases, and small plazas gave a sense of timelessness. I found a quiet spot near a terraced overlook to sketch. My pencil traced the curves of the Neptune Fountain and the surrounding flora, while capturing the symmetry of the castle-like structures atop the hill.
Tourists and locals strolled by, their voices blending with the sounds of birds and rustling leaves. I often paused to take in the scenery, allowing myself to soak in the serenity of the moment.
As the sun began to set, the city below turned into a canvas of warm hues, and the peaks of the Andes seemed to glow with a quiet majesty. As I walked back down, I felt a deep sense of connection to the vibrant rhythm of Santiago. My sketchbook now holds a piece of that beautiful day, and I look forward to discovering more of what this city has to offer.
