Fourth Journey Day 92: Ghosts of the Bay

The rain drizzled steadily as I made my way to the Diego Rivera Art Gallery this morning. The muted gray sky seemed to accentuate the bursts of color within the gallery walls. Inside, I found myself surrounded by a mix of contemporary pieces and traditional Chilean art. Every brushstroke and texture spoke of stories both intimate and expansive, tied to the landscapes and culture of this region.
One exhibit in particular drew me in - a series of mixed media works depicting the rugged coastline of Puerto Montt. The layering of materials reminded me of my own style and sparked an unexpected sense of kinship with the unknown artist. I spent a long time sketching details of the pieces, noting how the textures mimicked the movement of the waves and the rawness of the shore.
Afterwards, I took a short walk along the boardwalk, my raincoat wrapped tightly around me. The bay was shrouded in mist, the distant islands almost ghostly. It was a fleeting walk, but the silence and rhythm of the waves stayed with me.
Back in my room, I flipped through my sketches, already full of ideas for tomorrow. Puerto Montt, with its moody weather and multilayered charm, feels like a place where stories linger in the air.
