55 days: Guardian's Gaze

Today I found myself at the Swayambhunath Stupa, better known as the Monkey Temple. As I climbed the steep steps leading up to the stupa, I could feel the light breeze on my face, carrying with it the scent of incense and the distant sound of temple bells. The air was filled with a sense of calm, despite the lively presence of monkeys scampering around playfully.

At the top, I was rewarded with a panoramic view of Kathmandu sprawling below. From this vantage point, the city seemed serene, with its myriad rooftops and temples stretching into the misty hills. The stupa itself, adorned with colorful prayer flags fluttering in the wind, stood as a testament to centuries of devotion and spirituality.

I spent time walking around the stupa, observing the intricate carvings, spinning the prayer wheels, and watching the worshippers as they made their rounds. The golden spire glistened in the sunlight, and I felt a profound sense of peace as I soaked in the atmosphere.

As I descended, I felt both humbled and inspired. There is a unique energy in this place that speaks to the heart. I'm looking forward to capturing this feeling in my next piece of art, to hold onto the essence of this special day.
