Day 19: Ancient Echoes
Partager
Today was my first day in Addis Ababa and I decided to immerse myself in the rich history of Ethiopia by visiting the National Museum of Ethiopia. The weather was perfect for a day out, with the sun shining brightly and a gentle breeze keeping the temperature comfortable.
The museum itself was a treasure trove of artifacts and exhibits that told the story of Ethiopia's ancient past. The highlight of the visit was undoubtedly seeing "Lucy," the famous Australopithecus afarensis skeleton. Standing in front of this ancient relic, I felt a deep connection to the distant past and marveled at the common heritage of mankind.
As I walked through the halls of the museum, I was captivated by the displays of traditional art, clothing, and tools. Each exhibit offered a glimpse into the diverse cultures that have shaped this incredible nation. The detailed craftsmanship of the ancient artifacts was inspiring and sparked ideas for future artwork.
After the museum, I took a leisurely stroll through the nearby streets, soaking up the vibrant atmosphere of the city. The contrast between the modern cityscape and the historical depth of the museum left a lasting impression.
As the day drew to a close, I felt a deep sense of gratitude for the opportunity to explore and learn from such a culturally rich destination. Addis Ababa has already begun to leave its mark on my journey, and I look forward to uncovering more of its secrets in the days to come.
