Day 21: Silent Testimonies

Today I spent several hours at the Museo de Arte Fundación Ortiz-Gurdián, a quiet refuge amid the bustling streets of León. The museum's colonial architecture held a certain coolness within, a relief from the midday heat outside. Each room was a world of its own, filled with carefully curated works that spanned both classical and contemporary styles. I was particularly drawn to a number of bold, abstract pieces - intense splashes of color juxtaposed with somber, earthy tones that embodied a sense of resilience and identity.

As I walked through the galleries, I could see the profound influence of Latin American heritage, expressed through varied textures, dynamic lines and vibrant hues. There was something raw and honest about these works, almost like fragments of personal stories captured on canvas.

Later, I strolled through the museum's shady courtyards, pausing to let my thoughts settle. The experience left me with a quiet sense of admiration for the artists who used their work to depict cultural history and resilience, reflecting both struggle and beauty. Tonight, I'll sketch some ideas while they're still fresh, hoping to capture some essence of what I saw.
