54 days: Serpent’s Guardian

Today was a beautiful day in Chiang Mai and I decided to visit Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, a temple perched high on a mountain overlooking the city. The drive up the winding road was scenic, with the sun shining through the trees and a cool breeze making the climb pleasant.

When I reached the temple, I was greeted by the sight of the golden chedi glistening in the sunlight. Climbing the long staircase, lined with the bright green of the naga snakes, felt almost like a ritual in itself. At the top, the view of Chiang Mai below was breathtaking, stretching to the horizon under a clear blue sky.

Inside the temple grounds, the atmosphere was quiet and reverent. I wandered around, taking in the intricate carvings, the sound of bells, and the scent of incense that filled the air. I felt a deep sense of peace as I watched the local believers make their offerings.

As I made my way back down the mountain, I felt satisfied and inspired. Today was a day of quiet reflection and connection, surrounded by natural and spiritual beauty. I'm looking forward to capturing this feeling in my next piece of art.
