64 days: Island's Murmur

Today was a day of quiet contemplation. I decided to visit the Umananda Temple, located on a small island in the middle of the Brahmaputra River. The ferry ride itself was soothing, the boat cutting gently through the calm waters, with a soft breeze carrying the scent of the river. When I reached the island, the temple came into view, surrounded by lush greenery and small pathways.

The temple was smaller than I expected, but its charm lay in its simplicity and the serenity that surrounded it. I wandered around, observing the intricate carvings and the devout locals who came to offer their prayers. The air was filled with a sense of peace, punctuated by the occasional chirping of birds and the rustling of leaves.

Sitting on the steps of the temple, I watched the river flow by and felt a quiet connection to the place. There was something comforting about the rhythm of the water and the whisper of the trees. I felt like I had found a small sanctuary in the midst of the bustling city.

As I made my way back, I carried with me a sense of calm, knowing that even in the most unexpected corners, there are places where the spirit can rest.
