Day 2: Quiet Conversations in Wool
Partager
The drizzle came and went today, leaving everything in Puerto Natales in soft shades of gray and blue. I spent most of the day wandering through the art and craft shops, letting my fingers brush over woven wool, hand-thrown ceramics, and carved wooden figurines. There's a certain warmth to the handmade-the slight imperfection that makes each piece unique and carries the soul of the person who made it.
One shop stood out - a quiet place filled with textiles in muted earth tones, with patterns inspired by the local flora and fauna. I bought a small woven piece depicting a guanaco, drawn to the way the creature seemed to leap off the fabric.
Between shops, I stopped at a cafe and took a moment to rest. Rain trickled against the windows, and I let the sound keep me company as I jotted down a few sketches of the waterfront in my notebook. The view outside was soft and blurred - mountains half hidden in fog, the fjord calm under the heavy sky.
Days like this remind me that it's okay to slow down. Not every moment needs to be filled with great sights or constant movement. Some of the best discoveries happen quietly, in unexpected places.
