Day 58: Breeze of the Beacon
Partager
This morning I ventured up to the Moule à Chique lighthouse, drawn by the promise of stunning views and solitude. The winding road to the top was flanked by greenery, and at the top, the view was more than worth the effort. Standing there, I felt as if the world had opened up around me, with the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the Caribbean Sea on the other.
The waves far below moved like intricate patterns, their colors shifting between deep blue and turquoise. The breeze was invigorating, carrying the faint scent of salt and sun-warmed leaves. I found a quiet spot near the edge and took my time sketching the landscape, noting the sharp cliffs and the curve of the coastline.
Later, I met an elderly local who shared stories of how the lighthouse had stood as a guiding beacon for decades. His stories added depth to the place, blending its natural beauty with human resilience.
As I descended, the sun had begun to cast its golden light over the landscape, a perfect end to a full day. Tonight, my sketches will be the foundation for tomorrow's artwork, inspired by the confluence of land, sea, and stories.
